Scotland Mens
Yesterday with a win against the Czech Rep and a defeat to the Russians meant todays game was a must win for the boys against the Swedish Men (Edin). Due to the televised game between Germany and Norway finishing early (Norway won) the Scottish game came on after for the last few ends this morning. Well Scotland gave the all conquering Swedes a game, but were pipped to the post in the 10th end 11-10. Unlucky boys. All the curlers on the ice this morning were glued to our television as the game was broadcasted. That result though means that the challenge for a medal is now over. The boys still have a game to play later to day against the surprise package at this years competition Italy.
A match report from the RCCC can be found here.

Scotland Women
Update from yesterday. Scotland won one, lost one, They lost against Estonia in an extra.
A subdued Muirhead said, “we had a really bad tenth end and we had the four foot to win in the extra – as skip you’re supposed to make that kind of shot and I didn’t make it there . We know we’re going to have to step it up later and we’re going to do that. We’re not getting too hung up on it – we’re still in it.”
And boy did they step it up, they came out against the controversial Germans, and finished the game after 7 ends.
The girls are currently playing Sweden in the next round of play and their game is live.
