Canadians on Tour
Friday past, Curl Aberdeen hosted the last leg of a Royal City Curling Club from North Shore Winter Club, North District, Vancouver. They had played at Murrayfield, Stranraer, Braehead and Inverness before arriving at our club. Four teams from Curl Aberdeen were put out against four from Canada. It was a social event with the scores not mattering, not to brag but, Curl Aberdeen members did win 3 out the four games, with one game scoring a 7 one end. This however didn't stop the Canadians from pulling out a bottle and sharing a nip with their opposition after the game. Photo's will passed back to the club once they have returned from spending a few more days/week in Europe and posted on the Blog and Facebook. Thanks again to the members that were called on late to play.
Team Latvia
If you are in and about the club this week you will probably bump into this team from Latvia. They are here practicing for competitions this season and are a lot less noisy than the Korean Ladies team that were here in January. They are here until Saturday, and have arranged a few bounce games with a couple of Curl Aberdeen Super League teams. They played David Edwards team on Monday and have a games against Stuart Farquhar & Billy Henderson later this week.

Asham Under 14 slam
Last Saturday Curl Aberdeen hosted the latest round of the Under 14 tour, with James Craik team coming out victorious, match report can be found here. A spectator from the event, Albert Middler, said "Great quality of curling was on show on Saturday", which is promising, he also said that the Rink was packed with spectators which is always good to see. Let's hope for the same kind of spectators at the next couple of events the Club holds, The Lockhart Trophy and The Ladies Open.
