Team Edwards to represent Scotland at European Championship
David Edwards (Petroleum) and his team of John Penny (Meldrum & Daviot), Scott Macleod (Petroleum) and Billy Morton won the European Play-downs in Perth this past week beating Team Murdoch in the best of three final on Sunday, 2-1. Congratulations to them. They go on to represent Scotland at this years European Championships. The link with the club doesn't stop there, they have also asked Tom Brewster (Laurencekirk) to be their Alternate and Greig Henderson (Haddo House) to be Team Coach. The European Championships will be held in Champery between the 22nd-29th November, and likely be televised on Eurosport.

Black Bottle Club Bonspiel
This Saturday sees the first of three one day Club Bonspiels, sponsored by Black Bottle. Last years one day Club Bonspiel was a success with winning rink, Petroleum (Macleod) - Scott Macleod (skip), David Edwards, Rhiann Macleod and Louise Edwards. We took this format and expanded it to 3 Saturdays over the season this year, with prizes for the top two clubs on each individual day and an overall prize will be presented for the top scoring club over these Bonspiels (top 2 scores from the 3 bonspiels are added together to determine this). The Bonspiel is run in a Schenkel Format and games will be 6 ends. 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. Ranking will be determined by Points followed by Ends, Shots Difference then Total Shots. Information about all the times and rules are in print in the Club Booklet page 20 & 21.
