PrimeFour Aberdeen Ladies Open and Lockhart Trophy
14th - 16th November saw Curl Aberdeen host two ladies competitions. The Ladies Open welcomed teams from Czech Rep and Poland competing against some of Scotland's top ladies teams on the Junior and Women's Circuit. This years competition ran with 6 teams competing for the title of Aberdeen Ladies Open winner, next year we do aim to attract more entries. Having this number of teams we played the competition, this year, in a round robin with the team at the top of the table after the last round of games being the winner. Going into the last round saw Team Kubeskova, who had won all their games after four, playing against Team Gray who had won three from four games and still in with a chance of the title of Ladies Open winners. Team Kubeskova though kept their unbeaten record and won the PrimeFour Aberdeen Ladies Open 2014.
The Lockhart Trophy was played simultaneously to the Ladies Open and had a couple of former Ladies, Worlds & Olympic champions playing in it. The Lockhart Trophy had 5 entries in its first year being played for due to a team withdrawing on Friday, meaning in the Lockhart Trophy's round robin each team had a bye/practice. Again next year we do aim to attract a higher number of entries. The teams competing were all very evenly matched with ALL five teams finishing on level points. Albert did his maths and the winners of the first Lockhart Trophy were Team Adams.
