European Championships
As most of the members are aware, David Edwards (Petroleum) and his team John Penny (Meldrum & Daviot), Scott Macleod (Petroleum), Billy Morton, Coach Greig Henderson (Haddo House) and Alternate Tom Brewster (Laurencekirk) are representing Scotland at the 2014 European Championships in Champery. We will be providing constant updates via the Blog, Facebook and Twitter pages, but you can find scores and news on the official website here. We at the club wish Team Scotland (Men & Women's team) the best of luck in their aim of European glory.

Coverage of the European Championships
This event is being covered by Eurosport, but if you don't have access to Eurosport you can still watch via YouTube for free. The link to the World Curling TV can be found here. Though not all Scotland matches are being covered, a few are in the round robin stage, see the list below. Dave and his team do play Denmark on the You Tube channel on Sat, but it isn't advertised on the listing below (wouldn't want you missing out on watching our Boys).
The Measure
Once finished with the measures please put them away correctly so everything is in place to avoid it from being broken when hanging on the wall. As you can see below if left with the measuring device half way up the pole, it can slip out of position and gravity kicks in and it hits the end with a thud causing it to jam, we had this instance of the measure being jammed at our competition at the weekend after it had been put away incorrectly previous to the competition starting. Thanks in advance.

Curl Aberdeen Wheelchair Club
This club meets on a Wednesday 4pm and is always looking for new members, but the players in the Club are wondering if any of the Curl Aberdeen members are keen to give up their time between 4pm and 6pm and coach these guys on Ice?
Anyone interested please get in touch with the Guys themselves, you can find them on their Facebook page here to find out a little more about what would be involved.

Accord Aberdeen City Open
The Accord Aberdeen City Open is still open for entries for this competition, it's our annual competition which happens in end of January/start February and is part of the Goldline Scottish Curling Tour. You can find the entry forms here on the City Open blog or get in touch with a member of staff in the office at the rink. We expect/hope the competition to be at full capacity by the turn of the year.
