Grand Match
Saturday 24th October saw Ice Rinks around Scotland hold the Indoor Grand Match, North vs South. This happens every 5 years. The South won overall (again, 4 x in a row) gaining 2154 shots to the North's 1928.
Curl Aberdeen had a lot of close games and a few not so close, but every game was carried out in the usual spirit of curling. Big thanks goes out to the volunteers on the day of the event that helped Albert on the day, keeping the visitors informed of the happenings.

Inverness Triples
Curl Aberdeen members Richard Craig and Mark Roy were among the three that won the low road of the Inverness Triples. The Triples is a wheelchair competition which three players play 2 stones each. Very much like a regular game of Curling but without a fourth player.Edinburgh International
We had members down in the capital competing for this CCT tour event. Fraser Kingan in Team Bryce, Scott Macleod & Derrick Sloan in Team Macleod, Dave Edwards in Team MacDonald and Tom Brewster in Team Brewster. Team Bryce didn't make it out a tough section while Macleod and Brewster qualified out of the same section and Dave skipping Team MacDonald with Curl Aberdeen Old boy John Penny subbing for Euan also qualified. Tom and Scott got as far as that while Dave made it to the semi's losing to City Open regulars Van Dorp. The comp was won overall by Scotlands European representatives Team Smith. more can be found here.
